Who are We?

The Upper Hand Organization (UHO) is a charitable foundation based in Chitral, Pakistan, founded by Muhammad Fazal Wadood, whose philanthropic journey began individually in 2016 and formalized into an organization to expand its impact. UHO focuses its social work efforts across two key dimensions: providing immediate assistance in emergencies, such as arranging treatment for the sick, delivering rations, and aiding flood victims , and undertaking long-term projects like water system installations, constructing mosques and madrasas, building homes for the homeless, and running the Rozgar Scheme to promote self-sufficiency through financial support and skill development. The organization aims to serve humanity, rebuild lives, and address the critical needs of the vulnerable population in northern Pakistan by providing relief, education, healthcare, housing, and employment opportunities.

About Section

Our Vision

The Upper Hand Organization (UHO) envisions a brighter future rooted in the Islamic principle that “The upper hand is better than the lower hand” (i.e., the hand that gives is better than the hand that receives). Our ultimate goal is to see a compassionate, self-sufficient, and equitable world where chronic poverty is eradicated, and communities in northern Pakistan are empowered to secure their own futures. We strive to create a society where every individual, regardless of their circumstance, has access to basic rights—clean water, medical care, education, and safe shelter—allowing them to live a life defined by dignity and opportunity, rather than despair and dependency.

Our Mission

The Upper Hand Organization’s (UHO) mission is to help the helpless, serve humanity, and rebuild lives through sincere action in northern Pakistan. We achieve this by focusing on six high-impact sectors: providing sustainable Water Projects and disaster Relief; funding critical Medical Care; securing Shelter for the homeless; facilitating Livelihood Empowerment through the Rozgar Scheme; and investing in both Education and essential Community Infrastructure. Our work ensures every contribution translates directly into tangible, transformative change for the most vulnerable communities.

History About

The Upper Hand Organization (UHO) traces its roots to a personal, six-year philanthropic journey undertaken by founder Fazal Wadood, who was initially inspired by his family’s charitable work and deeply moved by the poverty and suffering he witnessed across Chitral. Beginning in 2016 as a solo effort to assist the helpless, this mission expanded to address critical needs like hunger, lack of education, water scarcity, and medical emergencies.

Upon completing his master’s degree in 2022, Fazal Wadood resolved to dedicate his life fully to social service, leading to the official formation of the Upper Hand Organization to professionalize and expand the outreach. This transition marked a shift from an individual endeavor to a structured, team-based organization committed to creating sustainable, transformative change—rebuilding lives and serving humanity across northern Pakistan.
